 My trip to Catalina was very inspiring. I learned many things. I got to really know people that I’ve been with ever since kindergarten. I was able to experience things I have never done before. Lastly, and more importantly, I learned and found new things in myself. 

 Where should I start? I have attended Sacred Heart Academy since kindergarten. I have always wanted to go to Catalina. Our eighth grade takes a five-day trip to Catalina at the beginning of every school year, so my wish finally came true! 

RIALTO—St Catherine of Siena School has been selected for the 2013 Best of Rialto Award in the Elementary Schools category by the Rialto Award Program.

SAN BERNARDINO—For the third year in a row the diocese offered a day for parents of the region to get advice, ideas and spiritual accompaniment in their most important job.

 The Parent Summit, themed “Empowering Parents and Youth,” drew nearly 500 to Aquinas High School on Sept. 14. The day began with a keynote address from Bishop Gerald Barnes, who told attendees that establishing a strong familial foundation at home, centered on shared practice of faith, leads to success in the class room and good social choices for young people.

RIVERSIDE—With the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year the iPad has become an integral part of the school-wide learning environment at Notre Dame High School in Riverside. 

 In fact, Notre Dame is the first secondary school in Riverside to become a fully integrated iPad school. This means that students are using the device across all disciplines for multiple purposes, including iBook textbooks, e-book textbooks, electronic Bible, iMissal for Mass, curriculum-related apps, daily planner, presentations, web-related research, language labs, science lab instrumentation, data analysis, math problem solving, note taking, quizzes, test taking, composition, video production and more. 

UPLAND—At St. Joseph School, the Art Class is redefining the definition of creativity, as it begins the process of integrating “art inquiry.” Art lessons will allow the students to engage in critical and creative thinking, connecting art works with other subject matter.
