SAN BERNARDINO—Two long serving ministers in the Diocese who played pioneering roles in the ministries of Child and Youth Protection and Catholic Cemeteries, respectively, are set to retire in December.

YUCAIPA—After having completed their seminary studies, Ted Drennan and Juan Lopez were ordained as transitional deacons in a Mass celebrated by Bishop Gerald Barnes on December 15 at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church in Yucaipa.

 Father Rogelio Gonzalez, Administrator of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, San Bernardino, has been appointed by Bishop Gerald Barnes to the Presyteral Council of the Diocese for a term of three years.

REDLANDS—Redlands’ El Carmelo Retreat House hosted on November 12-16 the annual course for priests who recently arrived from other countries to work in dioceses in several western U.S. states.
