The Diocesan Office of Worship is offering two sessions for youth, young adults and children in a sustained effort to respond to the above concerns. The first will take place on May 15 from 6-9 p.m. at the Diocesan Pastoral Center.
This will be a time of welcome and celebration, of learning and of praising God together in song. The activities of this evening will introduce the participants to meaningful ways of participation in which they become active members of the Church community. Please visit the Worship website: www.sites.google.com/site/sbdworship or call 909-475-5335 for more information.
The second session will be a Festival of Liturgical Music for children, ages five to fifteen years old. This will be held on July 25 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Diocesan Pastoral Center. Through the experience of choral practice, of becoming one community in music and song, children and their young mentors will learn the significance and the unfolding of the Liturgical Celebration, its elements, symbols and of their own loving praise of God.
The Children’s Festival will be in anticipation of Music Day, which takes place the next day on July 26. Music Day will feature the nationally known Peter Kolar, from World Library Publications. Please visit the Worship website for registration and details.
Along with family and school, the Church community tenderly focuses on shaping the life and future of the young and of society. In one voice with our children, youth and young adults, we worship and praise the Lord.
Sister Paulina Hurtado, O.P., is the Associate Director of the Diocesan Office of Worship.
