GRAND TERRACE—Father Dominic Avila Smith, OESA, a native of Riverside, was ordained a priest for the Order of St. Augustine on June 18 at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, Los Angeles and celebrated his first Mass at Christ the Redeemer Church, Grand Terrace, on June 19. Fr. Smith and his family attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, Riverside, for many years, and his family now attends Christ the Redeemer. Fr. Smith is the sixth vocation to the priesthood to come out of Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine. We give thanks to God for this vocation from our Diocese. May God bless Fr. Smith as he begins his journey as a priest.
