From Feb. 21 to 25, the Office of Continuing Formation of Priests Ministry hosted a Spanish retreat for the priests of the Diocese of San Bernardino.
In addition to the priests serving in the Diocese of San Bernardino, a group of Missionaries of the Missionary Fraternity of Mary living in Milwaukee also participated in the retreat. 26 priests participated in this annual retreat at El Carmelo Retreat House with an additional 11 priests joining via Zoom.
The theme of the retreat was Mercy in the Gospel of St. Luke. Father José Román Flecha, Spiritual Director of this retreat, presented 10 questions that Jesus asks to different audiences in this Gospel: to Joseph and Mary, to their disciples and to other groups or people. These questions were one method Jesus employed to help his listeners understand his message of love and mercy. These same questions today were presented to our priests so that they may feel and communicate God’s message of love and mercy.
