RIVERSIDE—On May 17 Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Riverside was highlighted as the “Riverside Pride Success Report” by Ward 3 City Councilman Mike Soubirous. The honor was in recognition of the school’s ministry to senior citizens at the Raincross Senior Living Center over the past two years. Below is a reflection on the honor and the ministry by OLPH eighth grader Evangeline Sanchez.

The Diocese’s three Catholic high schools produced some of the most hard working, driven and talented graduates of 2016. A graduating senior from each high school was selected by their school to be featured in this month’s issue.
SAN BERNARDINO—On May 16 three Catholic Elementary Schools brought their sixth to eight grade students to California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) to meet and greet professionals, get a tour of the University and hear what they can do to prepare for higher education.

This one comment from a student was enough to stir up excitement from my class of fifth graders when they walked back into the classroom after recess one April morning.
