Bishop Alberto Rojas celebrated the annual Diocesan Child Abuse Awareness and Victims Healing Mass on April 5 at Christ the Redeemer Church in Grand Terrace. The U.S. recognizes April as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month. “[We are in] a month of awareness… but it should be the whole year, every day,” Bishop Rojas said. “As a church, we are called to be a light of hope and a safe haven for [young people].” Child abuse is preventable. There are steps that can be made as a community to better protect children from harm. Sign up to take a free safe environment training course to learn how to identify and prevent abuse.
