SAN DIEGO—Bishop Cirilo Flores of San Diego passed away the afternoon of Saturday, Sept. 6, at the city’s Nazareth House, accompanied by family and friends.

 A man who traced his roots to the city of Corona in the Diocese of San Bernardino, Bishop Flores was 66 years old.

SAN BERNARDINO—Community members, clergy and city officials took to the streets of downtown San Bernardino on Sept. 14, chanting “Let’s stop violence! Let’s make peace!” 

 Among the community members was Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral parishioner Linda Miers, mother of slain daughters Michelle Miers, 26, and Melanie Miers, 16. She, along with family and friends, carried pictures of her daughters as she joined the others in the march.
