SAN BERNARDINO—The Asian-Pacific Ministry held its annual Formation Day at the Diocesan Pastoral Center on June 20. 

 The theme for this year was “Call to Holiness through Consecrated and Family Life.” 

 The Asian-Pacific Ministry was very fortunate to have Father Erik Esparza, JCL, as the keynote speaker.

SAN BERNARDINO—Excitement for the ordination of two Diocesan priests filled the air as scores of people filled the Cathedral Parish at Our Lady of the Rosary and spilled out into the courtyard. 

 Bishop Gerald Barnes welcomed Johnny Dang and Tyler Tripp into the presbyterate during the Ordination Mass on May 29.

SAN BERNARDINO—Luke Maxwell grew up in a good Catholic family, but starting at age 12 he unknowingly began to show signs and symptoms of depression. 

 “All I could feel was why me? Why would this happen to me?” Maxwell said. “I felt that death was the only way out. I wanted to have a good and happy life, but I felt that it wasn’t possible for me.”

SAN BERNARDINO—As the Universal Church continues to celebrate the value of family life this year it was no surprise that local Catholics joined in an annual May Day March in San Bernardino on May 1 sounding a call for immigration policy reform that keeps families together and advocating a living wage for working families.
